We'll have fun, fun, fun...

Amos has been out of town for a week, and I promised the kids that we'd do a lot of fun things while Daddy is gone.  Mia got to spend the night with Grandma, which was a BLAST for her. I took Gabriel to the playground a couple times while I had him alone. On Monday, we went to a new park and playground with Grandma, Emily and Jade, Heather and Kenzie and Camden, and Carrie and Baby Jack.  Monday night for FHE, we went to a jumping place called "Jump on It" in Springville. Today, we went to visit Grandma Steed in Bountiful, then to the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum.  It was a lot of fun!  I highly recommend it to anyone who lives around here!  And give us a call if you want us to go with.  We bought a 6 month pass!  The pics are of Captain Mia, flying the helicopter and of Officer Gabriel, on traffic duty in his cruiser.

I Hope This Lasts...

Gabriel was just relaxing on his bed, reading one of the books on his shelf.  I couldn't resist!  I had to capture the moment digitally.  He's a sweet boy.  Hopefully, he'll love books this much in... 5, 10, 15 years!

San Diego

After checking the memory card on the camera today, I discovered the San Diego pictures. It was a nice trip, and I appreciate my mom for letting us tag along.  There is a playground there that the kids absolutely love!  We took a little trip to the beach and built a sandcastle.  One of the sweetest things that happened while we were there was when we were all sitting down to watch the San Diego State vs. BYU game in the MWC Tournament.  Gabriel just walked right over to Grandad and climbed up onto his lap.  It was so sweet. I'm really grateful that my kids have had the opportunity to get to know Grandad.

Gabriel

Gabriel is a sweet, sweet boy.  With him, there is no "terrible twos."  He is usually very happy!  He loves to read books, play with cars, blocks, and Lightning McQueen.  He loves music and could sing full songs before he could talk clearly.  His favorite songs to have sung to him are "I Am a Child of God," "I Am Like a Star," and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."  He loves to listen to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Kaulana Kenekoa, "Heavenly," by Harry Connick Jr., "Big Girl You are Beautiful" by Mika, and "Falls" and "Gabriel's Oboe" by Ennio Morricone from "The Mission" soundtrack.  He loves going to story time at the library, especially for the drinking fountain.  He likes to drive by the fire station near our house to see if the fire trucks are out. I would say that his favorite thing is to be with his family-- everyone from Mommy, Daddy, Mia, Grandma, Poppy, Grandma Kathy, and cousins galore.  He just finished up his music explorers class at BYU, where he got to go play music with Daddy every Saturday morning. He really is a delight.  I look forward to hearing the sweetest little, "Mommy, wake up!" from this little one every morning.

Mia Bella Coletti

Mia is now 4 years old. She is truly a girly girl!  It was something she was born with. She's got a mom who is comfy in jeans and a t-shirt and she has to wear dresses every day. She is really into books.  She likes to look at books on her own, and curl up on Mom or Dad's lap to read. She loves her little brother and is a wonderful big sister to him. She enjoys going to her dance class once a week, where she takes ballet and tap. She also is in a music class that Mommy enjoys learning from as well!  Mia's perfect day would start early, when the sun comes up. She would wear the most beautiful princess dress, shoes, jewelry, makeup, but no one would touch her hair (it would magically look good all by itself!).  She would be able to watch all the movies she wanted and have mommy read all the books in the library basket AND on her book shelf. She would be able to play with all of her friends and cousins in turn, go to the playground, go out to eat, play "Burrito Man" and "Clobber Man" with Daddy, and never have to go to bed.  We love our Mia Bella and are grateful for her inquisitive mind, her sweetness, her smile, her laugh, and all the joy she brings to us!

We have arrived

I'm sorry it's taken this long to get a Coletti Family blog going.  I know everyone's busy, and being busy isn't always the best excuse, but it's really the only one I have to offer.  I hope you enjoy our family updates, our comings and goings, as much as we enjoy hearing from you!
